How to Behave in Life According to Quranic Verses

The religion of Islam and the Holy book Quran is a complete package that tells us how to live our lives in the best manner according to the teachings of Almighty Allah. The life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reflects the teachings of the Quran and Allah (SWT). Islam greatly emphasizes on behaving during our lifetime. Haqooq Allah and Haqooq Al-Ibaad are very important in the lives of Muslims. While Haqooq Allah is the main goal of life, the way to it largely depends on how we participate in Haqooq Al-Ibaad.

Haqooq Al-Ibaad mainly deals with how we behave in our daily life routine with other fellow beings. Below are some Quranic verses that teach us about behaving in life with other people:
Respect people of all Faiths
We should give respect to people of all faiths and beliefs. Allah Almighty commanded in the Holy Quran: “Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.” (Quran, 60:8)
Do not eat and drink in excessive amount
Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us that eating in excess is not wise. He (PBUH) used to share his food with others to make sure that everyone eats and does not sleep on an empty stomach. Allah Almighty stated in the Noble Quran: “O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.” (Quran, 7:31)
One should not be Proud
Whatever we have in this world is all due to Allah’s reward for our efforts. So, we should not be proud of ourselves. Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Quran: “And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace” (Quran, 25:63)
Stay away from Corruption
Corruption is strictly forbidden in Islam, even when it revolves around the activities carried out by individuals. Allah Almighty stated in the Quran: “Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” (Quran, 2:60)
Honor the Guests
As we mentioned earlier that Haqooq Al-Ibaad plays a huge role in how we behave. Receiving guests and treating them well has been given a lot of stress in the holy Quran. “Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a roasted fattened calf, and placed it before them. He said: ‘Will you not eat?’” (Quran, 51:26)
Speak Kindly to the Needy
We should care for the needy and the poor and when speak to them speak kindly. Do not misbehave with them. Allah Almighty stated in the Holy Quran: “And if you turn away from the needy awaiting mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word.” (Quran, 17:28)
Refrain from Spying and Backbiting
Now day’s people are often too busy in backbiting and spying about others and their deeds, but little do we know how it will affect us in the hereafter. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is accepting of repentance and Merciful” (Quran, 49:12)
Do not Disrespect Parents
Do not ever think about to disrespect your parents. No matter how hard we work will never be able to repay our parents about their efforts for us. Allah Almighty mentioned in the Holy Quran: “Say not to them [so much as], “uff,” and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word” (Quran, 17:23)
